Boxer: the defense dog

The Boxer is a German dog breed and is part of the Molosser group. It's a stocky dog with a broad, short muzzle. It has thick, long lips. Its ears are floppy even though they're short. Physically, the boxer is a dog of medium build, which is about 61 cm high and weighs around 38 kilos. Its look is neither too heavy nor too light, but stocky. Its short hair is either fawn or brindle in color with a portion in black. With its bulging muscle structure, it has a very noble and powerful look. Boxers are brutal dogs, but become very docile and calm to their masters, family and children. However, they are generally head-strong and detest strangers. The Boxer is a defense dog like no other thanks to its force and aggressiveness.

The Boxer was born in 1888 through a cross-breeding with a male German Bullenbeisser and a female English Bulldog
, also called Alt's Flora. This cross-breeding was an idea of Friederich Robers, Erald Konig and Rudolf Hopner to try to find the original breed: the Bullenbeisser, the Boxer's ancestor. The first one born from this experiment was a fawn and white colored male dog called Lechner's Box. Mated with his mother, Alt's Flora II and Alt's Shecken are born. These dogs could already be classed as Bullenbeissers. In 1904, the first Boxer registered in the German Stud Book was called Mühlbauer's Flocki. He came from the cross-breeding of Schecken with a white Bulldog.
